Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki on Friday and expressed deep gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s role in reducing Pakistan-India tensions. The meeting took place at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave, where the ambassador warmly welcomed the minister.
During the meeting, Minister Naqvi appreciated Saudi Arabia’s sincere and brotherly support during difficult times. He said the Kingdom had always stood by Pakistan—whether in times of peace or crisis—and their bond had remained strong through every test. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s mediation helped maintain regional peace and showed the strength of their relationship.
Naqvi also briefed the ambassador on the government’s ongoing crackdown against organized begging mafias, particularly those exploiting religious visits to Saudi Arabia. He said Pakistan had adopted a zero-tolerance policy against such groups, which were damaging the country’s image abroad. Strict legal action is being taken to end this illegal practice.
In response, Ambassador Al-Maliki reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s deep friendship with Pakistan. He said the Kingdom views its relationship with Pakistan as both strategic and fraternal. He also assured continued cooperation in diplomatic and security matters between the two nations.
This meeting reflects growing coordination between Islamabad and Riyadh on regional stability, social issues, and bilateral ties. It highlights Saudi Arabia’s increasing diplomatic influence and Pakistan’s commitment to tackling internal challenges that have international implications.
